An Island

Root 40 - A poem about connection.

I thought I needed

to be able to say

I didn't need anyone else

to be whole.

An island unto myself.

And while it's true

that I could be okay

without any one particular

person in my life,

still,

we are social creatures

aren't we?

Having you back

has restored something in me

that was missing.

I was okay.

Now, I'm great.
